Preparing for Pilgrimage

Welcome to all pilgrims-- those who are going on the journey and those who remain home, following our footsteps via this blog.
The roots of the church in Wales were planted in the sacred soil of a Celtic community shaped by inspiring landscapes, ancient legends, and dedicated people of faith. As our group of 26 pilgrims travel from across the United States to northern Wales, we'll tap into this rich, but often overlooked tradition. Along the way, we'll walk enduring pilgrimage paths, pray in ancient churches and cathedrals, wander abbey ruins, and worship by holy lakes and on rocky grey beaches.  Some of us may even take a dip in a holy well along the way!

Along the way, we'll be posting updates-- what we saw, who we met, and how the pilgrimage is stirring within us.

We look forward to taking this journey together . . .

A Petition for Pilgrims
(from The Carmina Gadelica)
Be Thou a smooth way before me,
Be Thou a guiding star above me,
Be Thou a keen eye behind me,
This day, this night, forever.
